The BSC has two accounts at Charles Schwab Co.

The BSC Scholarship Account (#8992-3617) receives stock donations for the Endowed Scholarship Fund.

The BSC Funded Cash Account (#3088-4379) receives stock donations for the Capital Campaign Fund, Where It Is Needed Most Fund, Disabled Accessible Fund, Seismic Safety Fund, and Other.

Step 1

If your shares are currently held at Charles Schwab, you will need to give Schwab a signed Letter of Authorization via fax, mail, or over the counter at a Schwab office stating the account that you would like to gift from and either the number of shares or dollar value of shares to transfer.

If your shares are held at another brokerage firm, you will need to give them a Letter of Authorization stating you would like to gift a number of shares or dollar value of shares to us, including our appropriate Schwab account number and Schwab’s DTC clearing number 0164, Code 40.

Step 2

When you have transferred stock to either of our accounts, please let us know the shares that you have requested to be transferred,  and the specific fund that you have donated to by emailing Accountant Margie Greene at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it or by calling her at (510) 848-1936; ext. 308.  We will acknowledge your donation in writing and verify that it has been credited to the fund you have chosen.
