FAQ About dotcoop Email Accounts

What is my user name?

Your user name is your .coop email address without the "@bsc.coop". For example, my username is "help" (my email is This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it if you ever need any).

Why do I have this email?

Over the years, we have run into many problems both communicating internally and with other communities (neighbors and alumni, for example).  These email addresses are static (unchanging).  Therefore, if you are a house manager, for instance, your neighbors already know that they can email your email address and get the house manager.

The .coop email accounts allow co-op elected officials to keep their personal email address personal, and keep work seperate from their personal life.  If you do not want to keep these separate, you can forward your email to your personal email.

How do I find the someone else's email address?

Check out your address book.

Why is there SPAM?

Why is the sky blue? No, seriously, some of our .coop accounts have gotten tagged for SPAM.  Even though it's gmail, you might get spammed. There seems to be no rhyme or reason to which one gets the SPAM.  Please let This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
