Conflict Resolution Coordinator (CRC)

Duties

This person assists members at the individual, house, and central levels as an impartial mediator for individual disputes; provides members with skills to constructively handle their own disputes; provides members with referrals to campus and community services; acts as meeting chairperson at council meetings for house level termination and grievance proceedings.  This person acts under the supervision of the Member Resources Supervisor.  The CRC conducts ongoing house managers & president training in conflict mediation and communication skills.

Requirements

Good communication and interpersonal skills are required.  You must be outgoing and responsible.  You need to be organized and good at planning and implementation.  This position requires a flexible schedule, as you’ll need to respond to calls quickly.  You have to have good mediation skills, but they can be expanded upon through training.  This opportunity is available to co-op members only.

Hours/Credit

This is a 5 hour/week Central Level workshift, which will fulfill your house-level workshift requirement.  Apartment residents receive a rent credit stipent (at the workshift rate of $12.30/hour) equivalent for the 5-workshift hours (it doesn't replace their apartment workshift requirement).  You should expect to put in 10 or more hours immediately upon starting to organize for the semester.
