Job Description
The Housing Assistant is responsible for assisting with administrative duties associated with the application/assignment processes and providing back-up office coverage in the Housing Department. The Housing Assistant must perform data-entry, create spreadsheets, make copies, file, prepare mailings and conduct other routine office work. The Housing Assistant will assist with processing housing applications, requested changes to application preferences, and prepare housing contracts. The Housing Assistant must also occasionally back up support staff by answering phones, working the front counter, answering and properly directing inquires, taking housing payments, and answering emails as needed.Requirements
You must be a current BSC member to hold this position. You must be pleasant, patient and good with the public. You must be able to type at least 50 wpm, and have general office skills. You must be able to work in a hectic office situation, follow directions, and learn new tasks quickly. You must also have experience with Microsoft Office, including Excel.
Hours/Pay
This job averages 8 hours/week, over the course of approximately 22 weeks, (March – July), compensated with a rent credit stipend of $2,164.80. This job does not replace your workshift obligation at the house/apartment. This job is eligible for work-study compensation. If, for whatever reason, this job begins in the middle of the job term, (March – July), the compensation will be pro-rated. You cannot be on the Board of Directors and hold a Central Level job.
